Briggs is a disciplined, results-driven student-athlete known for his leadership, strong work ethic, and commitment to holding himself to the highest standards in both academics and athletics. He leads by example, embraces challenge, and consistently pushes himself to grow as a competitor and as a teammate.
Briggs attended Bilingual Montessori School, where he developed strong academic foundations and a global perspective. He relocated to Estero, Florida in 2020 with his family, bringing his competitive spirit and discipline to the Southwest Florida community.
Briggs comes from an athletic family. His father Marc played competitive level hockey, baseball, and golf, while his mother Kelly was a competitive swimmer. This athletic heritage instilled in Briggs a deep appreciation for hard work, discipline, and teamwork. He has two younger brothers: Carter (born 2012) and Beckett (born 2014).
Briggs' parents have exposed him to the world through travel and experiences, believing that international perspective is just as important as academic and athletic development. At age 9, he traveled to Thailand, trekking through the countryside, feeding elephants, and experiencing a culture entirely different from his own. At age 12, he competed in the renowned Pee Wee Quebec tournament, one of the largest and most prestigious youth hockey tournaments in the world, where he billeted with a French Canadian family—immersing himself in their home, language, and way of life, and gaining a firsthand appreciation for hospitality and cultural exchange. His hockey career has taken him even farther abroad, traveling with his team to Finland and Sweden to experience Scandinavian hockey culture firsthand—including a bracing polar plunge into the icy Baltic with his teammates. His travels have continued throughout Europe and North Africa, including visits to Morocco, Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, and the Czech Republic, as well as a tour of WWII historical sites in Normandy and Poland, where he visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum—a sobering and profoundly educational experience that gave him a deeper understanding of history, empathy, and the importance of remembrance, far beyond anything a classroom alone could teach.
At age 14, Briggs made the courageous decision to attend Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, Massachusetts. This boarding school experience has been transformative. He was immediately scouted for both varsity hockey and soccer teams, earning spots on elite athletic rosters while maintaining strong academic performance. This move demonstrates his commitment to challenging himself and pursuing excellence at the highest level.
Briggs is known for being kind, well-mannered, and respectful. Yet, beneath that demeanor lies a fierce competitive spirit. He approaches life with discipline and intention, balancing empathy for others with an unwavering drive to excel. His coaches and teammates consistently praise his work ethic, leadership, and ability to elevate those around him.
